I'm spending Easter in Haiti!!!!

I can't believe it. This week just gets more and more exciting!!!! For two years now I have wanted to go to Haiti and it just hasn't worked out for me to be able to go. My husband is very supportive of me going ahead without him and meeting the children but does not want me traveling alone for safety reasons and because of my seizures (BTW no seizures since leaving the hospital, the medicine seems to really be helping and I have not even felt close to having one. Hooray!). So someone I know from a chat site that is also adopting from NLL has just received the great news that it is time to come and get her daughter. She offered to allow me to go with her!!! So I catch a red-eye flight this Friday and will be in Haiti Saturday morning!

Over the last couple of months I have become very close friends with a missionary, Kez, staying at the orphanage, you may have noticed me mention her many times in my blogs. I emailed her that I was coming and she was overjoyed and said she would meet us at the airport and try to have Jacques and Stephanie waiting there with her if she can. How exciting is that? I have come to love Kez like a sister and am as excited about meeting her as I am about meeting our children!

God is just so great the way he provides. The friend I'm traveling with, Amy, has been to Haiti many times and the director of the orphanage referred to her as (his words) "WHITE HAITIAN WOMAN " , WELL , I MEAN WITH MY TRUSTED FRIEND AMY :-). Kez is an RN and has been living at the orphanage for several months. I couldn't be in better company!!!! Soon I will be hugging and kissing our children in person. It's just unbelievable. This morning I was starting to feel really nervous and overwhelmed by the new additions to the family and suddenly going to Haiti so I prayed that God would give me peace about it. Then I checked my emails and found this from a good friend:

I came across this today during devotions and felt like I should pass it on to you:
You, My child are an heir to My riches. You will not need to worry about anything. Everything you need to operate in the future, I've already set aside and earmarked for you. It is yours.

I guess it made me think to encourage you that you don't need to worry now about 'how are we going to survive when all the kids get home. How will I have enough energy/health/ wisdom to make it, and etc. God already has the grace, wisdom, and energy you're going to need set aside and earmarked for you. You won't need it right now, so He's not giving it right now. He'll give it to you as you need it.

and then this quote from another friend when I checked her blog:
“Don't tell God how big the storm is. Tell the storm how big your God is!”

So I'm back to just being really excited (okay, maybe still a little nervous). In just a few days I will be loving on at least 4 out of 5 of our children and will come back with lots of pictures and video to share with you!

Hi LeAnne,

I don't know if I'll see the littlest, Vilner. I think he is still living with his mother not at the orphanage. I'm hopeing they will come to see Stephanie, Jude, and Lovenie for Easter and I will get to meet them too. I can only hope! (and pray of course!) I hear that they come to visit quite a bit.
