Checking In

I have not had much blog time these days but of course I have more information then ever that I would love to share. Things are rolling along here. Tomorrow it will be one week since our children came home and in some ways it flew by and at other times it has just dragged on. Jim returns to work next week and if I were to be honest I am totally dreading it. I don't know how I would have managed getting through this week without him and I totally can't imagine what next week will be like. Thank you for all your encouraging emails and the many prayers. I would like to post some very specific prayers requests:

*For the entire family as we adjust and grow through these changes
*For Jude and Stephanie who are having really tough moments with leaving behind everything and everyone they know. Who wouldn't struggle with this? Prayers especially for Jude who seems to be struggling the most.
* For Jim and I as parents as we try and get through this new and unknown areas of parenting
* For me as well because I've managed to come home with some sort of Haitian bug that does not love me. I've been so sick and getting sicker. Last year I came home from Haiti with a parasite. Hopefully this time it's just a crummy virus or something but the doctor said all my symptoms point to possible malaria. I'm waiting for the test results and hoping it's just a virus that will be gone soon but it has been really difficult to be sick and try and "be there" for all our kids that need us so much right now.

I'll try and share more about our first week together at home and the rest of our trip to Haiti as soon as I can!

Oh you poor thing. If I were near, I would minister to you! I do hope you get better soon. Thankful that Jim was around to help you, and I'll pray that you're "all better" before he goes back to work.

Dear Angela:
Please know our love and prayers are with you. While a joyful time, these first months are not easy on a number of levels. I have walked in those shoes (both the family adjustments and dealing with the parasites) Please know that I am here for you if you need to talk (willowjade@comcast.net, or I can give you a phone number) Wish I was closer by so I could help you out in person!!
Blessings,
Kathy

Angela, I pray that you are feeling better soon!

Your kids are beautiful. I cried when I saw photos of them at home.

Dear Angela,
I hope you feel better soon. I read your blog all the time (I am a member of the So CA Haitian group) and I am so impressed with your family. I am praying for you all as you experience living, loving and being near to your new children at home and for you adorable 3 bio sons. Blessings, Lynn

Angela,
I am sorry you came home with a friend....have them check for parainflueza, my sister and her little girl both came home from Haiti with it. At first they (Dr) thought it was the Mumps and or some other tropical nasty...a course of antiboitics took care of it...When you go to get Jaques ask your Dr for some Cipro and take it 2 days before and the time in Haiti as a prevenitive to getting anything the next time in Haiti.
I will Pray for your strength and also for your kids hearts so that they can heal from the loses that they have had!!!
It has only been aweek and you have been sick the adjustment takes sometime for eveyone ....
Wish I could be more of a help!
God Bless,
Rose Anne
